This workshop time will be devoted to developing standards-aligned novel units following the "novel busting" methods described in the book No More Fake Reading. Facilitators will offer support for participants and provide additional resources, tips, and troubleshooting conversations for teachers diving in to prepare rigorous, skills-aligned novel studies. With social studies classes shifting away from a co-taught model it is important that teachers more than ever know how to best support students in their classes with 504s and IEPs. We will cover effective strategies to support students and how to develop effective communication with case managers.
