About me
Beth Nichol is currently the classroom music teacher at Shawanoe Elementary in the Shawnee Mission School District, where she also serves on the district music curriculum cadre. Mrs. Nichol previously taught general music in the Cartwright School District in Phoenix, Arizona, to students in grades K-8 and she was also a lead music teacher for Cartwright, mentoring new teachers, writing curriculum and planning professional development for general music teachers. Mrs. Nichol earned her undergraduate degrees at Kansas State University in 2007 and her Master’s in Music with an emphasis in elementary music education at Arizona State University in 2012. Mrs. Nichol served as the President of the Arizona Kodály Teachers Society in 2014-2015. Mrs. Nichol also holds Level 3 certification in the Kodály philosophy, Level 1 certification in Orff-Schulwerk and Level 2 certification in World Music Drumming.
