Individualized Projects: Setting Up Canvas (& Skyward) to Show Individualized Tasks & Projects LIMITED
Tuesday February 18, 2025 8:00am - 9:15am CST
With the move toward RWL / PSA's / PBL / Student-Choice (Real World Learning, Post-Secondary Assets, Project Based Learning), students are completing individualized tasks. The old method of "weekly points" doesn't adequately show what students have accomplished for anyone (student, parent, teacher, or admin). Because SMSD requires that all assignments by sync'ed to Skyward (not just the course grade), we can't individualize assignments within Canvas using student groups. I will present a way to setup Canvas with individualized projects that sync's to Skyward; and shows what the student did, at what level they did it, when they did it. An added benefit is each student ends up with a portfolio of the tasks completed. 1. Use Canvas and Skyward to show individualized project completion. 2. Setup projects with different grades for different expertise levels.
